Ina Garten, an American writer of cookery cookbooks as well as Emmy Award-winning host of Food Network's longest-running program Barefoot Contessa that began airing in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons to 2020. Ina began her career working at the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy documents. Though she found the career to be stimulating intellectually, eventually she dropped interest and purchased a small specialty store called Barefoot Contessa. It took her 18 years to make her shop wildly successful, before she closed it. She then began to write her first cookbook. A number of other books and newspaper articles were published. Her Food Network TV show also made its debut which was an enormous success. The company also offers a wide range of product from cooking ingredients to equipment and storage containers. Ina has never been to any cookery school or employed in a restaurant, and has a complete self-taught. Ina's easygoing style of entertaining and her easy cooking style is well-known. Her most famous recipes are the lemon chicken that she grills in a skillet, Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon, balsamic-roasted Brussels Sprouts & Lemon Bars.
